Getting started
Install AnyTV, add your first source, and get a library on screen.
- What AnyTV is, and what it is not A player for media you already have, and deliberately not a content service.
- Add your first source Add an M3U link or an Xtream login, in the app or in your account, and every device gets it.
- Connect a media server or a NAS Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, or an SMB, WebDAV, FTP or SFTP share, each becomes another source in the same library.
- Add a custom EPG Override your provider's guide with your own XMLTV file, and fix channels the guide does not line up with.
- Set up AnyTV on a TV Type an eight-character code once, on your phone rather than the remote, and the TV arrives already set up.
- What happens on the first load Why the first import is the slow one, and what AnyTV is doing while you wait.
Account & devices
Signing in, connecting TVs, device limits, and moving to a new phone.
- Sign in with an email code There is no password. Enter your email, type the six-digit code, and you are in.
- Connect a device One mechanism, one code: the new device shows eight characters, something you are already signed in on approves it.
- Device limits explained 10 devices per member, 30 across a Family, and why there is a wait after you disconnect one.
- Move or disconnect a device Disconnect a device you still own, or erase its library when it is no longer yours.
- Restore your library on a new device New phone, replaced TV, factory reset, sign in, connect, and everything comes back.
- Passkeys and account security Add a passkey, and see what is protecting the account behind the scenes.
- Delete your account Delete everything AnyTV holds for you, with a 7-day window to change your mind.
- What syncs, and what does not The exact list of what follows you between devices, and the two things that stay put.
Plan & subscription
The free trial, Personal and Family, and using one purchase on both stores.
- The free trial 7 days of everything, no account, no card.
- What Pro includes What the paid tier unlocks, and what stays free forever.
- Personal vs Family Family is not "more devices": it is 6 separate accounts that share one plan.
- Use one purchase on Apple and Android Apple cannot see a Play purchase and Google cannot see an App Store one. Your AnyTV account bridges the gap.
- Cancel, refunds, and what happens next Billing belongs to Apple and Google. Here is where to go and what to expect.
Watching
Live TV, sport, downloads, subtitles, profiles and parental controls.
- Live TV and the guide A real programme guide with now and next, catch-up, and channel-number surfing.
- Sports Hub Fixtures and live scores across leagues, with a jump straight to the channel showing the match.
- Downloads and offline viewing Whole seasons in one action, Season Pass for new episodes, and downloads that resume themselves.
- Skip Intro One press past intros and recaps, learned from chapter markers and from what you skip.
- Subtitles Tracks that come with the stream, external subtitles for films and episodes, and how to style them.
- Multiview, picture-in-picture and casting Four channels at once, a floating player, and sending playback to another screen.
- Profiles and parental controls A profile each, a kids profile that stays clean, and locks that hold on every device.
Library & organisation
Artwork, categories, favourites, and taming a very large playlist.
- Fix a wrong poster or match Why a title gets the wrong artwork, and how to correct it for everyone.
- Hide and rename categories and channels Cut a 40,000-entry playlist down to the part you watch, and make it read properly.
- Favourites, My Lists and sorting Three different tools that people often try to use for each other's jobs.
- Speed up a large library The work is proportional to how much content AnyTV was asked to organise. Ask it to organise less.
- Missing movies, shows or episodes A tab that disappeared, a series missing half its episodes, or a film you know you have.
- Connect Trakt Scrobble what you watch in AnyTV to your Trakt history, wherever it came from.
Troubleshooting
Buffering, streams that will not play, missing guide data, and sync.
- Buffering and stalls Work out whose problem it is first, then the one setting in AnyTV that helps.
- A stream will not play Black screen, spinner, or an error, how to tell a provider problem from an app problem in under a minute.
- The guide is missing or wrong Empty guide, wrong programmes, or times an hour out, three different causes.
- A playlist will not load Import errors, login failures, and the network problems that look like both.
- Sync looks out of date When a change on one device has not reached another, and what to check.
- Send a useful bug report What to include so the first reply is an answer rather than a question.
