Live TV and the guide

Updated 16 September 2026

A real programme guide with now and next, catch-up, and channel-number surfing.

Live TV in AnyTV is a guide, not a list of names. Programmes sit on a timeline with what is on now, what is on next, and what was on earlier.

Getting around

  • The grid: scroll through channels and forward through the schedule.
  • Now and next: every channel shows what is playing and what follows.
  • Channel numbers: type a number to jump straight to it, the way a television works.
  • In-player guide: bring the guide up over what you are watching and change channel without leaving it.

Catch-up

Where your provider offers an archive, past programmes in the guide are playable. Open a programme that has already aired and press play. If nothing happens, your provider does not carry catch-up for that channel. It is not a setting in AnyTV.

Programme artwork

Live channels usually supply a title and nothing else. AnyTV looks the programme up so the guide can show a poster or still, falling back to the channel logo when there is no reliable match.

Favourites and order

Favourite the channels you actually watch and they rise to the top. Hide categories you never open, rename channels the provider named badly, and reorder the lot, all of it syncs to your other devices. See Hide and rename categories and channels.
