About AnyTV

What the app is, and the one thing it deliberately is not.

What is AnyTV?

AnyTV is a smart player for media you already have. You point it at an IPTV playlist, an Xtream Codes login, a Plex or Jellyfin server, or a network share, and it turns that into a proper library, live TV with a full guide, films and shows with posters, cast and episode lists, downloads for offline, and your place kept across every screen.

Link

Does AnyTV come with channels, films or shows?

No, and this is not a technicality. AnyTV hosts no media, sells no channels, and bundles nothing with the app. It is a player. Everything in your library comes from the sources you add, and you are responsible for having the right to watch them.

If you have no playlist, subscription or media server, AnyTV will have nothing to show you.

Link

Is AnyTV free?

The app is a free download, and every install gets a 7-day free trial of everything, with no account and no card.

After the trial, the Free tier keeps your library browsable: the guide, artwork, cast, episodes, search and favourites all work. Playback is where it stops, at 60 seconds per title. Pro removes that, and adds downloads, Multiview, virtual channels and more. See Pricing.

There are no ads in AnyTV, on any tier.

Link

Are there ads?

None. There is no advertising anywhere in AnyTV and no advertising identifiers are used. We do not sell data and we do not track you across other apps or sites. See the Privacy Policy.

Link

Who makes AnyTV?

AnyTV is built by Pixelslab. Support runs through the support page and hello@anytvapp.com.

Link

Is there a community?

Yes: the AnyTV Discord. It is where people compare setups, work out provider quirks between themselves, see what is being built next, and reach the team fastest. New and still small, which means your feature request actually gets read.

You will also find the invite inside the app under Settings → Support. On Apple TV it appears as a QR code, because a television cannot open a Discord link by itself.

Sources & compatibility

What you can point AnyTV at, and what it does with it.

Which sources does AnyTV support?

More than most players, which is the point:

  • IPTV: M3U and M3U8 playlists (remote URL or local file), Xtream Codes logins, and Stalker portals
  • Guide: XMLTV, from your provider or a URL of your own
  • Media servers: Plex, Jellyfin and Emby
  • Network shares: SMB, DLNA/UPnP, WebDAV, FTP and SFTP
  • Tracking: Trakt, to scrobble what you watch

You can add as many as you like, and AnyTV merges them into one library rather than making you switch between them.

Link

Does AnyTV support Stalker portals?

Yes: portal address, MAC and time zone, with catch-up from the portal's archive where it offers one. Several well-known players do not support Stalker at all, so if that is what your provider gave you, this is one of the reasons to be here.

Link

Does AnyTV support Xtream Codes?

Yes. Add the server URL, username and password and AnyTV loads live channels, films, series and the guide automatically. Include the port if your provider uses one, and keep the http:// or https:// prefix.

You can add an Xtream source in the app, or in the Sources tab of your account, every device picks it up on its next sync.

Link

Can I use my own EPG?

Yes. AnyTV reads XMLTV guide data. Leave the EPG field empty and it uses the guide your provider supplies; fill it in with an XMLTV URL to override that.

See Add a custom EPG for the details, including what to do when channels and guide entries do not line up.

Link

How do Plex and Jellyfin work in AnyTV?

They appear as another source. Connect the server and its libraries sit alongside your IPTV content in the same Movies and TV Shows tabs, with the same artwork, search and continue-watching behaviour.

Link

Where do I get a playlist or subscription?

Not from us. AnyTV does not sell, recommend, resell or link to content providers, and we cannot help you find one. If you already subscribe to an IPTV service, they will have given you either an M3U link or an Xtream login. That is what AnyTV needs.

Link

Can I use a playlist editor?

You can, but it often costs you more than it gives. Editors commonly rewrite or strip the identifiers AnyTV uses to match a title to its artwork, cast and episodes, so an edited playlist tends to produce a library with missing posters and broken series grouping.

Everything most people use an editor for, hiding categories, hiding channels, renaming them, changing the order, is built into AnyTV and syncs to every device. See Hide and rename categories and channels.

Link

How many sources can I add?

There is no fixed limit. There is a practical one: every source you add is more for the app to import, organise and match, so a large number of very large playlists will make the first load slower, particularly on older hardware. Hiding categories you never watch is usually the better lever. See Speed up a large library.

Link

Does AnyTV work with Trakt?

Yes. Connect your Trakt account and what you watch in AnyTV is scrobbled to it, so your Trakt history stays accurate whether you watched something through a playlist or a media server.

Link

Can AnyTV play files from my NAS?

Yes. AnyTV speaks SMB, DLNA/UPnP, WebDAV (plain or over TLS), FTP and SFTP, so anything on your own network or server can be a source.

Files named like Show Name - S02E05.mkv and Film Name (2019).mkv match to the right artwork and episode almost every time. Files named ep5_final_v2.mkv do not. See Fix a wrong poster or match.

Devices & platforms

Where AnyTV runs, and how it behaves across screens.

Which devices does AnyTV run on?

iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac on Apple's side; Android phones and tablets, Android TV and Google TV on Google's. You can get it on the App Store or on Google Play.

Link

How do I set AnyTV up on a TV without typing on the remote?

You do not type anything on the TV beyond an eight-character code. Open AnyTV on the TV, go to Settings → AnyTV account, and it shows a code. Enter that code on your phone, or at me.anytvapp.com/activate, and the TV joins your account, with your sources, profiles and settings already on it.

On iPhone you can scan the TV's QR code instead of typing the code at all.

Link

Can I watch on more than one device at once?

AnyTV does not limit it. Your provider might: most IPTV subscriptions cap simultaneous streams, and that cap is theirs, not ours. If a second device says the stream is unavailable while a first is playing, that is almost always the provider's connection limit.

Link

Can I download things to watch offline?

Yes. Films and episodes, in the quality you choose, with a whole season in one action if you want it. Season Pass downloads new episodes automatically as they appear. Downloads resume by themselves after an interruption, and on iPhone a Live Activity shows progress, speed and time remaining.

Link

Does AnyTV support AirPlay and Chromecast?

Both, along with picture-in-picture, a mini player, and background audio.

Link

Can I watch several channels at once?

Yes. Multiview puts live channels side by side and lets you choose which one you hear, up to four on capable hardware such as Apple TV 4K, and two on lower-powered devices, where a third would cost you smooth playback on all of them.

Multiview is a Pro feature.

Link

Your account & sync

What an AnyTV account is for, and what it moves between devices.

Do I need an account to use AnyTV?

No. Add a source and start watching, nothing asks you to sign up first.

An account earns its place when you have a second screen. It is what carries your library to a new device, keeps watch progress and favourites in step, and makes a subscription bought on one platform work on the other.

Link

How do I sign in?

A code is emailed to you, so there is no password to choose or forget. Enter your email, we send a six-digit code, and it is valid for 5 minutes. After the first time you can add a passkey and use Face ID, Touch ID or your device's unlock instead.

Signing in with Google or Apple was retired. If an old build still offers it, update the app.

Link

What actually syncs between my devices?

Watch progress, favourites, custom lists, hidden channels, channel renames, category order, your subtitle and audio choices, your chosen version of a film, your sources and your profiles.

Your provider logins are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded, so the copy we store is not one we can read.

Link

How many devices can I connect?

10 per member. A Personal plan is one member, so 10 devices. Family is up to 6 members with 10 each, 30 in total.

These are AnyTV installations, not people and not streams. Disconnecting a device frees its slot after a 7-day wait, which is there so the limit cannot be worked around by cycling devices.

Link

I got a new phone. How do I get my library back?

Install AnyTV, sign in with your email code, and connect the device. Your sources, profiles, favourites and watch progress come down from your account. You do not re-enter provider logins.

Link

Can everyone in the house have their own profile?

Yes. Each profile keeps its own watch history, favourites and lists. A profile can be locked with a PIN, and on iPhone and iPad unlocked with Face ID or Touch ID; an Apple TV profile can be unlocked from your iPhone. Repeated wrong PINs slow down before the next attempt.

A kids profile hides adult categories, and parental controls apply on every device the profile appears on, not just the one you set them up on.

Link

Plan & billing

Trial, plans, and what happens across two app stores.

How does the free trial work?

7 days of everything, with no account and no card. It starts the first time the app asks for it and it is anchored to the device, so reinstalling does not reset it.

Link

What is the difference between Personal and Family?

Personal is one member with 10 devices. Family is up to 6 separately verified members, each with their own 10 devices, their own profiles and their own sources: 30 devices in total.

Family members are invited by the organiser from the Family tab. An invitation code expires after 15 minutes.

Link

I bought on iPhone. Does it work on my Android TV?

Yes, and this is the main reason to have an account. Apple cannot see a Google Play purchase and Google cannot see an App Store one, so AnyTV bridges it: sign in on both, and the subscription you already bought unlocks the other platform.

Within one store it is simpler still, the store restores it for you when you sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account.

Link

Does Apple Family Sharing work?

Yes, and where it does Apple runs it. AnyTV deliberately does not keep a competing member list. Turn on Purchase Sharing on both the buyer's device and each family member's device, then restore purchases in AnyTV.

Two Apple rules catch people out: a subscription bought before Family Sharing was switched on is not shared, and the purchaser can turn sharing off at any time. In either case Apple will not share it and we cannot override that.

Google Play shares no subscriptions with a family at all, which is why AnyTV runs Family invitations itself on that side.

Link

How do I cancel?

In the store you bought it from. Subscriptions in App Store settings, or Subscriptions in Google Play. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

Deleting your AnyTV account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel it in the store.

Link

How do refunds work?

Apple and Google handle payment, renewal and refunds under their own terms, and refund decisions are theirs. Request one through reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play's order history.

Link

Is there a one-off purchase?

Yes, a lifetime purchase, which does not expire. It can still be revoked if the store reports a refund or chargeback.

Link

My subscription is not being recognised.

Try, in order: restore purchases in the app; make sure the device is signed in to the store account that made the purchase; sign in to your AnyTV account so a cross-store purchase can be applied.

If it is still not recognised, send us a report with the store you bought from and the email on that store account.

Link

Privacy, data & legality

What we keep, what we never see, and where the law sits.

What data does AnyTV collect?

Without an account: essentially nothing tied to you. With one: your email address, your encrypted library backup, your device registrations, and purchase records from the stores. Anonymous usage analytics are kept for 90 days and then deleted.

The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Link

Can you see my playlist or what I watch?

Your provider logins are encrypted on your device with a key we do not hold, so no. Channel and title names are stored so your library can be rebuilt on a new device; stream links are not.

Link

How do I delete my account?

In the app, or in the Privacy & data tab of your account. Deletion runs after 7 days, and signing back in within that window cancels it.

Full walkthrough →

Link

A channel is down. Can you fix it?

No. It is worth knowing why, because it saves you time. AnyTV never touches the stream: it asks your provider's server for it and plays what comes back. If a channel is black, frozen or missing, the answer is on your provider's side.

A quick way to tell the difference: if every source fails, suspect the network or the app; if one provider's channels fail and another's are fine, it is that provider. See A stream will not play.

Link

Still stuck?

Send us what happened and we will look at it. Using Settings → Support in the app attaches diagnostics with no credentials in them.
