Fix a wrong poster or match

AnyTV matches each film and show in your playlist to a metadata record so it can carry a poster, synopsis, cast, ratings and an episode guide. Matching is done from the name your provider gave it, which is the whole problem.

Names arrive as things like EN | The Batman 2022 4K, VOD-FR - Le Batman, or Batman.The.2022.MULTI.1080p. AnyTV strips the noise, works out the title, year and language, and looks it up. Most of the time this is right. Sometimes a name is too mangled, or two films share a title, and it lands on the wrong record.

Correcting it

Open the title, choose Fix match, and search for the right one. The correction sticks for you and syncs to your other devices.

Corrections also help everybody: they are contributed anonymously, keyed to the item's name rather than to you, and a correction confirmed by enough people improves the match for the next person whose provider uses the same naming.

Why a poster is missing entirely

• The title is genuinely not in the metadata catalogue, regional and older content especially.
• The name has no recoverable title in it.
• Matching has not finished yet; a large first import fills in over minutes.

If everything is wrong at once
