Troubleshooting

The guide is missing or wrong

Updated 16 September 2026

Empty guide, wrong programmes, or times an hour out, three different causes.

The guide is empty

  1. Does your provider supply one? Not all do. Check with them, or add your own XMLTV guide. See Add a custom EPG.
  2. Has it downloaded yet? Guide data is fetched after the channel list. Give it a few minutes on a first load.
  3. Is the EPG URL right? If you set a custom one, open it in a browser. It should return XML, not an error page or a login form.
  4. Reload content from Settings.

Some channels have a guide and others do not

This is an identifier mismatch. An XMLTV file labels each channel with a tvg-id; your playlist has its own. Where they disagree, a channel has no programmes even though the programmes exist in the file.

Match the channel to the right guide entry by hand. The match is remembered and syncs to your other devices.

Programme times are an hour or several hours out

The guide is in a different time zone from the one the app is applying. AnyTV supports a per-playlist EPG offset, set it on that source and the whole guide shifts into place. Half-hour offsets are supported for the zones that use them.

Check your device's own time zone first, especially on a TV that has never been told where it is.

Programmes are right but named badly

Channel names and programme titles come from the guide file. Rename channels in Manage Channels; programme titles come from whoever wrote the guide.

Did this not solve it?
