Subtitles

Tracks that come with the stream, external subtitles for films and episodes, and how to style them.
Subtitles that come with the stream
Live channels and most VOD streams carry their own tracks. Pick one in the player's subtitle menu. Your choice is remembered and syncs to your other devices.
External subtitles for films and episodes
For films and TV episodes, AnyTV can search for external subtitles by title and language. This applies to on-demand content only, live channels use the tracks in the stream.
Open the subtitle menu, search, and choose a result. Look at the release name in the result: a subtitle file made for a different cut of a film will drift out of sync no matter how good the translation is.
Styling
Size, colour, background and position are adjustable, and the setting applies everywhere rather than per title.
If subtitles are out of sync
- Try a different subtitle for the same release. This fixes most cases.
- Use the player's subtitle delay to nudge it into place.
- A subtitle that drifts progressively (fine at the start, seconds out by the end) is for a different frame rate. A different file is the only real fix.
