What syncs, and what does not
Updated 16 September 2026
The exact list of what follows you between devices, and the two things that stay put.
What follows you
- Watch progress: where you stopped, on every film and episode
- Favourites and My Lists
- Profiles, including their avatars, PIN locks and kids setting
- Sources: your playlists and server logins, encrypted
- Hidden channels and hidden categories
- Channel renames and category order
- Sorting preferences for Live TV, Movies and TV Shows
- Subtitle and audio track choices, and which version of a film you picked
Change any of these on one device and the rest catch up on their next sync.
What stays on the device
Downloaded video files. The list of what you downloaded syncs; the files themselves do not, because they are yours, large, and already where you wanted them. Download again on the new device.
Player engine and playback settings that describe that particular hardware, buffer length, decoder choice, display settings.
When sync happens
On launch, when you switch profiles, and in the background while the app is open. Running the same profile on two devices at once can make progress look inconsistent for a moment; the later write wins.
If something is not catching up, see Sync looks out of date.
