Library & organisation

Speed up a large library

Updated 16 September 2026

The work is proportional to how much content AnyTV was asked to organise. Ask it to organise less.

Big providers ship catalogues built for a global audience: every region, every language, tens of thousands of entries most subscribers will never open. AnyTV reads and organises all of it, so the honest fix is to give it less to read.

In order of effect

1. Hide categories you do not watch. This is by far the biggest lever. Open Categories in your account, much faster than doing it on a TV, and filter out the regions and languages you never use. Then on the device: force close AnyTV, reopen it, and use Settings → Reload content.

2. Remove sources you no longer use. A provider you stopped paying for is still being imported.

3. Reduce the number of simultaneous sources. Three large playlists is three large imports.

What you get back

  • A faster first load and faster refreshes
  • A smaller, cleaner library to browse
  • Better recommendations, because they are drawn from content you actually might watch
  • A more responsive app, particularly on older hardware

What does not help

Reinstalling. The import work is the same work; you will simply do it again from scratch.

Refresh interval

If your provider's catalogue rarely changes, a longer refresh interval means less repeated work. It is in the source's settings.

Did this not solve it?

Tell us what you tried. Settings → Support in the app sends sanitised diagnostics along with your message, no credentials, no stream links.
