Every capability
What AnyTV actually does.
The complete list, grouped by what you are trying to do. Availability varies by platform, by stream format and by what your provider supports. Where it does, it says so.
Nothing matches that. Try a different word, or ask us, it may exist under another name.
One library, every source
Everything you have, merged into one place, organised without you doing the organising.
-
IPTV playlists
M3U and M3U8, as a remote URL or an imported file, with as many playlists as you want to add.
Paste the link your provider gave you. Add it once in the app or in your account and every device picks it up on its next sync.
-
Xtream Codes
Server, username and password, live channels, films, series and the guide load automatically.
Include the port if your provider uses one, and keep the http:// or https:// prefix.
-
Stalker portals
Not in most playersPortal address, MAC and time zone, including catch-up from the portal archive.
Several well-known players do not support Stalker at all. If that is what your provider issued, this is one of the reasons to be here.
-
Plex, Jellyfin and Emby
Your own server's libraries, sitting in the same Movies and TV Shows tabs as everything else.
Chapter markers from Plex and Jellyfin feed Skip Intro where they exist.
-
XMLTV guide data
Your provider's guide, or your own XMLTV URL per playlist, with a time offset when the guide and your zone disagree.
Where a channel and a guide entry do not line up, match them by hand once; the match syncs to your other devices.
-
Unlimited sources at once
Merged into one library rather than a switcher. Add a second provider and it simply appears.
Live TV
A television, not a list of URLs.
-
Full programme guide
A real grid with now and next, per-programme detail, and channel-number surfing.
-
In-player guide
Bring the guide up over what you are watching and change channel without leaving it.
-
Programme artwork
Live channels usually supply a title and nothing else. AnyTV looks the programme up so the guide can show a poster or a still.
It falls back to the channel logo when there is no confident match, rather than showing the wrong show's art.
-
Catch-up
Play a programme that has already aired, wherever your provider carries an archive.
-
Virtual channels
UnusualBuild your own channel from your own library, on a schedule, and it appears in the guide with now and next like any other.
-
Multiview
Live channels side by side with audio from whichever you choose, four tiles on capable hardware, two on lower-powered devices.
AnyTV picks the ceiling the device can actually hold rather than offering a layout that stutters.
-
Sports Hub
UnusualFixtures, live scores, lineups, statistics and events, then one tap to the channel in your own sources carrying the match.
The channel matching happens on your device. Your playlist is never sent anywhere for it.
-
Live Activities and widgets
iPhoneA match score on the Lock Screen, the Dynamic Island and the Home Screen without the app open.
Films and shows
A folder of files becomes a library worth browsing.
-
Artwork and metadata
Posters, backdrops, synopses, cast, crew and ratings, matched from the names your provider used.
-
Full episode guides
Seasons and episodes with stills and descriptions, including, if you want, the episodes your source does not carry, greyed out.
-
Ratings
Scores from external ratings providers on the titles you open.
-
Trailers
iPhone, iPadWatch a trailer before you commit to the film.
-
Browse by person
Open an actor or director and collect everything of theirs across every source you have connected.
-
Versions
Several qualities of the same film collapse into one entry with a version picker, and the version you chose is remembered.
-
Skip Intro
One press past intros and recaps, from chapter markers where they exist and learned from what you skip where they do not.
-
Fix match
A title matched to the wrong record is correctable in two taps, and the correction syncs to your other devices.
Corrections are contributed anonymously, keyed to the item's name rather than to you, so a confirmed fix improves the match for everyone whose provider names things the same way.
-
Edit metadata
Override a title, a poster or a description locally when you would rather it read your way.
Playback
The part that has to be right every single time.
-
Multiple player engines
UnusualAVPlayer, VLC and KSPlayer. A stream that stutters on one often plays cleanly on another, and switching is a setting rather than a reinstall.
-
Picture in picture and a mini player
Shrink playback into a floating window and carry on browsing, or leave the app entirely and keep watching.
-
Background audio
Sound continues with the screen off.
-
AirPlay and Chromecast
Send playback to an Apple TV, an AirPlay display or a Chromecast target.
-
Handoff and Spotlight
Apple devicesStart on iPhone and pick it up on iPad from the Dock; find a title from system search.
-
Siri and Shortcuts
Apple devicesAsk for something by name, or build a shortcut around it.
-
Subtitles
Tracks from the stream, plus external subtitle search for films and episodes, with size, colour, background and position under your control.
-
Audio and subtitle memory
The language you chose is remembered and follows you to your other devices.
-
Buffer control
Raise the forward buffer when a connection is unsteady, smoother playback in exchange for a slightly slower start.
-
Gestures and skip
Ten-second skip, variable speed, double-tap to seek.
Offline
For the plane, the commute and the places with no signal.
-
Downloads
Films and episodes in the quality you pick, playable with no connection at all.
-
Bulk and Season Pass
A whole season in one action, and new episodes downloaded automatically as they appear.
-
A queue you control
Reorder it, prioritise what you are about to need, and let interrupted transfers resume themselves.
-
Network and battery aware
Wi-Fi only or cellular, per download or as a default, with an eye on the battery.
-
Live download progress
iPhoneProgress, speed and time remaining on the Lock Screen.
-
Storage management
See what is taking room, protect downloads from accidental deletion, and export to the Files app.
For the household
Several people, one app, no arguments.
-
Profiles
Separate watch history, favourites, lists and preferences for each person.
-
Per-profile sources
Choose which sources and which content each profile can even see.
-
Locked profiles
A PIN, unlocked with Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone and iPad, or approved from your iPhone on Apple TV.
Repeated wrong PINs slow down before the next attempt.
-
Kids profile
Adult categories hidden from browsing, from search and from playback, on every device the profile appears on and not just the one you set it up on.
-
Family plan
Up to six separately verified members, three devices each, everyone with their own account and their own library.
Across your devices
The part that makes a second screen worth having.
-
Passwordless account
A code emailed to you, or a passkey. There is no password to choose, forget or have stolen.
-
Pair a TV in one step
The TV shows eight characters; your phone or any browser approves them. Scan its QR code on iPhone and you type nothing at all.
-
Library restore
Sign in on a new device and your sources, profiles, favourites and progress come back, without re-entering a single provider login.
-
Cross-device sync
Progress, favourites, lists, hidden channels, renames, category order, sorting, subtitle and audio choices and chosen versions.
-
One purchase, both stores
UnusualBuy on Apple and it works on Android, and the other way round. Neither store can see the other's purchase; your account bridges it.
-
Encrypted credentials
Provider logins are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded. Your devices can read them; we cannot.
-
Device management
See every connected device, rename them, disconnect one, and choose whether it keeps your library or erases it.
-
Manage it from a browser
Sources, categories, channels, profiles, family and security, all at me.anytvapp.com. Far faster than a remote control.
Make it yours
A provider builds one playlist for everybody. This is how you make it yours.
-
Hide categories and channels
Cut a forty-thousand-entry playlist down to the part you watch, in bulk, without editing the playlist.
-
Rename anything
Give a category or a channel the name it should have had.
-

The app and this website, in the language you actually use.
-
No advertising
None, on any tier, ever. No advertising identifiers either.
