IPTVX vs AnyTV
IPTVX has been at this since 2019 and it shows in the depth of its live-TV tooling. It is also the one competitor here that ships its own media server.
The clearest difference is architecture. Recording and library serving in IPTVX live in a separate IPTVX Media Server you install on a NAS or a Mac. AnyTV instead connects to media servers you may already run. Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, and to shares and cloud drives directly. The second difference is the account: IPTVX syncs through iCloud, which ties the model to Apple; AnyTV runs its own account, which is what lets a purchase made on one store work on the other.
What IPTVX does better
- IPTVX Media Server for NAS and Mac, with recording and remote access, a whole product AnyTV does not have.
- Special Themes: art-directed visual packages with their own app icons, avatars and backgrounds.
- Programme reminders, and an AI panel for extra context on a live programme.
- Amazon Fire TV is supported and documented; AnyTV does not publish a Fire TV build.
What AnyTV does better
- Plex, Jellyfin and Emby as sources, rather than requiring their own server product.
- Stalker portals.
- An account of our own instead of iCloud, so a purchase on either store unlocks the other.
- A sports hub matched to your own channels, and virtual channels.
- Multiview on Android as well as Apple.
